Membership in the Templar Order

For those who sincerely desire to serve both Spirit and humanity by joining the Sovereign Magistral Order of the Temple of Solomon, the Grand Mastery and its Crown Officers welcome your interest and are eager to become acquainted with you personally.

The Order regards our Templar Brothers and Sisters as truly a spiritual family, joined by that deepest of bonds – a commitment to live up to the highest ideals and greatest inspirations of humanity, while pursuing the essential Templar missions to defend the oppressed, uphold Justice, develop direct communion with the Divine, and promote the underlying unity between the spiritual religions of the world. We share a deep commitment to do our best to live up to the ancient Code of Chivalry and the Templar Code.

The modern Templar Order has removed artificial economic barriers to membership, and has adapted authentic traditions to modern realities. The historical practice of “Tithing” is replaced by the new tradition of “Portioning”, as ongoing contributions of a modest monthly donation, in the form of a “subscription” to maintain active interaction and participation with the Order, through the Templar Network. This enhances the collective power of a larger membership base to provide for the operations and missions of the Order.

Becoming a Templar - Earned Merit & Initiatory Training

The sacred name of “Templar” is not lightly granted, and must always be earned. The membership experience of the Templar Order is for those who are ready to make a deep commitment of service to Spirit and to humanity. Those who only seek titles and status will likely be disappointed. Those with a passion to serve, to make a real and positive difference in the world, will find their spiritual home in the Order.

New members of the Order receive a wealth of painstakingly restored Templar history and heritage, sacred archaeology, and a practical system for a life of authentic Chivalry in the modern era, as described in our Templar Skills Training webpage. This organized study series provides the substantial body of traditional initiatory knowledge, for all members to fully understand what it means to serve as a genuine Templar.

Beyond the written materials, the classical Spiritual Training – for which the original Templars were famous as “warrior monks” of Sacred Activism – is available as part of the ongoing experience of membership interactions, facilitated by the Templar Network, which you will have access to upon completion of your Membership Registration.

Membership Engagement with the Templar Network

Champion(Supporter) Membership - The Order welcomes those who have not yet made the decision to become an active Templar, but who wish to support the worldwide movement to restore Templar Chivalry as the pillars upholding civilization, while learning more about the original Templar Order. Those who choose to participate in the movement as cultural Templars (without yet formally joining the Order) are recognized as a “Templar Champion” (in the medieval sense of one who advocates and defends an honorable cause as its “champion”).

In appreciation for your support as a Templar Champion, the Order gives you the groundbreaking scholarly works of The Universal Code of Chivalry from 1066 AD and The Templar Code of 1150 AD, both diligently restored from the historical record, with in-depth educational commentary. Champions will have access to the Templar Network, for social interaction with the general membership. You will also be informed of activities and developments in the Templar Order through our periodic Templar Newsletter

The Portioning donation for the Templar Champion level of participation is $22 USD monthly (which may be prepaid annually if desired).

Sergeant or Adjutante MembershipIn the medieval era, the primary and majority membership category of the Order was not Knights and Dames, but rather the “light cavalry” of Sergeants, who supported the more heavily armed knights. The same holds true today. Women as Templar Sisters hold the direct equivalent title of Adjutante (pronounced like “debutante”). Sergeants and Adjutantes are full members of the Order, regarded equally as Templar Brothers and Sisters, in active service with full participation. They constitute a distinct class of skilled professionals, directly assisting and supporting the Knights and Dames in essential missions of the Order.

Becoming a Sergeant or Adjutante in Primary Membership of the Order gives you the full collection of authentic initiatory materials of the Templar Skills Training Program, which must be studied before your elevation to titled knighthood or damehood in nobility, which is also earned through active participation and effective service in the Order.

Sergeants and Adjutantes will have full access to the Templar Network, for social interaction with the general membership, with access to Templar working groups and invitations to Templar events. You will also be informed of activities and developments in the Templar Order through our periodic Templar Newsletter.

The Portioning donation for membership as a Templar Sergeant or Adjutante is $33 USD monthly (which may be prepaid annually if desired).

"Temple Guardian" MembershipThis subscription level is well suited for prominent new members, of major achievements or capabilities which carry inherent benefits to the Templar Order. It recognizes one’s previous knightly accomplishments, and signals that the Order can expect an accelerated process of earning knighthood or damehood. This best accommodates political situations where it might not be appropriate to call the new member a “Sergeant” or “Adjutante”.

This level is recommended for those who: (1) intend to earn the traditional “Donat of Devotion” status, (2) are already a nobiliary Knight or Dame of another genuine historical chivalric Order, but have not yet contributed benefits to the Templar Order, or (3) hold major Nobility status in a genuine recognized Royal House.

Becoming a Temple Guardian in Primary Membership of the Order gives you the full collection of authentic initiatory materials of the Templar Skills Training Program, which must be studied before your elevation to Donat of Devotion or to nobiliary Knight or Dame of the Order.

Temple Guardians will have full access to the Templar Network, for social interaction with the general membership, with access to Templar working groups and invitations to Templar events. You will also be informed of activities and developments in the Templar Order through our periodic Templar Newsletter.

The Portioning donation for Temple Guardian membership is $77 USD monthly (which may be prepaid annually if desired).

Knight or Dame Elevation - Knighthood or Damehood is an official nobiliary title, which in all genuine orders of Chivalry must be earned by merit through active participation in the Order (beyond simply joining in membership). Elevation to Knight or Dame in nobility, for demonstrated earned merit, occurs only with existing members who have actively engaged in cooperation with the Templar Order, with whom the Grand Mastery and its Crown Officers have become personally acquainted.

This process is unique to each individual, based upon the motivated dedication and capabilities of each new Knight or Dame in the context of their visible role in advancing the missions of the Templar Order. Accordingly, there is no method or option of directly “applying” for knighthood or damehood.

Registration Only for General Membership – Participation as a Templar Sergeant or Adjutante, or Temple Guardian, is open to everyone by Registration and subscription (because this does not grant official knighthood or damehood in nobility).  The Order reserves the right to cancel any membership if contrary to its Policies of Membership, or for any unlawful or unethical misconduct. Membership must be confirmed by completing the Templar Skills Training Program before Certificates are issued by the Grand Mastery.
